Sound Massage Therapy at Jivan Parivartan

Sound Massage Therapy is the short one, about 15 minutes of focused sound to reset tension when you do not have long. It works well on its own as a quick pause, and it is an easy add-on before or after another session when you want a little more. As with everything here it is fully guided and suits all levels, one-to-one or in a small group at our Tarkeshwor center.

The Jivan Parivartan way

A women-led center teaching in Tarkeshwor, Kathmandu since 2021: thousands of sessions, guests from more than eleven countries. Groups stay small.

What is sound massage?

Working through the body

Sound massage works through the body. You stay fully clothed and get comfortable. Bowls are placed on or close to you and played softly, and the vibration gives a rhythmic massage effect that helps tight areas relax. Tell us where you feel it most, the neck, shoulders, chest or back, and we keep the session focused there.

What happens in 15 minutes

About fifteen minutes. Good on its own, and an easy add-on before or after another session.

Frequently asked questions

What should I wear, and does anything touch me?
You stay fully clothed throughout. The bowls are placed on or close to the body and played softly, so what you feel is vibration rather than hands. Wear something comfortable you can lie down in.
Can I add it to another session?
Yes, and many people do. Fifteen minutes works as a standalone pause when you are busy or travelling, and it is an easy add-on before or after a longer healing session when you want a little more.
Is sound healing safe? Do I need any experience?
Yes. It suits all levels, and no experience is needed. It is a wellness practice for relaxation and does not replace medical care. If you have a health condition, tell us when you book.
One session or a series?
One session is complete on its own. For ongoing stress, sleep problems or emotional heaviness, many people choose a series of three to five sessions.
Can I book a group session?
Yes. Every session is available one-to-one or as a small group, so you can come on your own or share the experience with friends or family. Groups are small, with a maximum of 4 people.
Can I reschedule or cancel?
Reschedule or cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before your appointment. Cancellations within 24 hours, or missed appointments, may be charged in full. Healing sessions require no deposit.
Where are you located?
We are in Tarkeshwor-5, Kathmandu, Nepal, a calm setting a short drive from central Kathmandu and Thamel. International visitors are always welcome. The center is by the Nagarjun forest, about 30 minutes from Thamel by taxi, and is open Sunday to Friday, 6:00am to 8:00pm. It is closed on Saturday.
