What Reiki is not

Reiki is not a religion, and no belief is needed. Students here have been Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, Muslim and of no faith, and nothing in the training conflicts with any of them.

Reiki is not medical treatment. We teach it as something to use alongside your doctor's care.

The three levels

Level 1 (Shoden, First Degree) is for your own hands. You learn the hand positions, the history and the five principles, and how to treat yourself daily, along with family, friends and animals. 2 days (10 hours), $250.

Level 2 (Okuden, Second Degree) opens the work outward. You receive three symbols, learn to treat other people properly, and learn to send Reiki at a distance. 2 days (10 hours), $300.

Master Level (Shinpiden, Third Degree) is the teaching level: the master symbol, how to attune others and how to teach. 4 days (20 hours), $400.

Which level to start with

Everyone starts with Level 1. Level 2 follows after at least three months of daily practice, and Master Level at least nine months after Level 2.

How long you need to be in Nepal

Two days for Level 1 or Level 2 (10 hours of training each), and four days for Master Level (20 hours). That covers the attunement and your supervised practice. The rest of the training happens at home, in your own hands, over the weeks that follow; you do not need to be in Nepal for that part.

From Level 1 to Master: the timeline

Level 1: 2 days at the centre, then 21 days of daily self-practice at home.

Level 2: at least 3 months after Level 1, 2 days at the centre.

Master Level: at least 9 months after Level 2, 4 days at the centre.

Can I take Reiki Level 1 and Level 2 on the same trip?

No. Level 2 needs at least three months of daily practice at Level 1. The attunement is short, but the practice takes months. If your trip is short, take Level 1 and return for Level 2 when the practice has settled.

What happens on the first day, and what to bring

The attunement ceremony takes about 15 minutes, inside a full first training day (5 hours of training, with a lunch break). Come in comfortable clothing you can sit in; you stay fully clothed throughout. Bring a notebook. Everything else, manual, materials, tea, is provided. Eat lightly beforehand if you can, and leave the evening after the attunement free rather than scheduling anything demanding.

What an attunement is

It is a short ceremony. You sit in a chair with your eyes closed and your hands at your heart. Your teacher moves around you, working with breath and symbols. It takes about 15 minutes. Nothing is done to your body and nothing is required of you.

Most people notice little during the ceremony. Some notice changes in the days after, in sleep or appetite, or old feelings that come up and pass. This is normal, and it is why we teach one level at a time.

The certificate you receive

You receive a certificate for the level you complete, with your lineage documented on it: the line of teachers the attunement passed through.

What the certificate is not

Reiki has no single global governing body, so no school can issue a licence the way a nursing board does. A Reiki certificate names its lineage. Ours names the teachers it came through, and you are welcome to ask about them.

Working with clients, or charging, after the training

After Level 2, yes: that is the level at which you are trained to work with other people properly, including at a distance. Whether you charge is your own decision and depends on the rules where you live; some countries require registration or insurance for hands-on practice, so check them before you start. After Master Level you are additionally qualified to initiate and teach Reiki yourself.

Booking and deposit

Send your application through the program page, contact form, or WhatsApp. We confirm availability and details within 1 hour. For trainings and retreats, a 20% deposit secures your seat.

A booking is confirmed once we have acknowledged it in writing (email or WhatsApp) and, for trainings and retreats, once the deposit is received. Program places are limited and allocated in order of confirmed booking.

Balance and payment

The 20% deposit confirms your place and is paid by Wise transfer to our bank account. The balance is due on arrival, payable in USD cash, Nepali rupees, or bank transfer. Prices are stated in US dollars.

If you cancel

15 days or more before the start date: 80% of the full program fee is refunded (the 20% deposit is non-refundable).

Less than 15 days before the start date: the deposit is retained; any balance paid is refunded.

After the program has begun: fees are non-refundable.

As an alternative to a refund, you may transfer your deposit once to a later cohort within 12 months, free of charge.

If we cancel

If we must cancel a program (for example, due to insufficient enrollment or circumstances beyond our control), you choose between a full refund of everything paid, including the deposit, or a free transfer to a later date.

How refunds are paid

Refunds are returned by the same method the payment was made, within 14 days of the cancellation being confirmed. Bank transfer fees, where they apply, are deducted from the refunded amount.
